Developing My Personal Mission Statement (Critical Assignment)
Putting in the work will earn its rewards. I must be diligent in staying focused and challenge myself to work hard and improve upon my skills. To be successful with my achievements, I must practice privacy where I can have time alone with my own thoughts and visions. I need independent time to be creative. I want my accolades to be in line with my financial prosperity. I strive to have my professional career and my academic career to be to go hand in hand with what I am learning, what I am developing, and how I understand and execute my objectives.
Developing My Personal Ethics Statement (Critical Assignment)
I believe there is a difference in fairness, equality, and doing what is right. I also believe each scenario that forces us to think about ethics will have different results in each situation. When I am making a decision, I think of different factors: Who will this benefit? Who will this hurt? Is it for the greater good? Will I be okay with my choice thereafter? If I am making a decision for a group, then I have to come to terms that not everyone will agree or understand why. Lying, cheating, and stealing is not always as clear cut as we like it to be. Initially we automatically revert to those behaviors as being wrong, but when you dig deeper and hear stories of people not having another choice to survive and their actions did not physically hurt anyone, it begins to weigh on your moral compass and then you begin to question your own values. I always fall back to what standards I set for myself and what standards I have for those around me. Ethics is one of those ideas that is particular to the person and situation. I never know how I am going to think or react to something until it is presented to me.
